This blog will serve as a list of planes that I have flown the maiden (first) flight for. Please use comments to note any that I miss (the following is the format I'll use).
Date - Plane - Owner: Notes
09.15.10 - 3DH SHP (v2) - Funtana - The SHP is extremely stable and easy to fly. This one needed maybe a click of aileron trim and nothing else. I mean, c'mon, easy knife edge on it's maiden flight... what more can you ask for.
03.18.10 - 3DH Edge 47 - MaidenPro - Let's face it, this plane should not have made its maiden flight in the winds we had, but I needed to be strong and get that flight in. It flew well, but needed a good bit of trim. I'm anxious to see how it trims out in slower winds. This is definitely, the biggest, most aggressive plane I have flown to date.
02.20.10 - 3DH SHP - PuckerUp - Great plane right out of the box, did not require much tweaking, but adjusted the battery position forward a bit to balance.
11.14.09 - Swift II Intermediate - Twister - Resurrection of a crashed wing, it needed a little tweaking but flew well.
11.14.09 - Swift II Intermediate - PuckerUp - PuckerUp joins the ranks of the Swift owners with a brand new Swift II assembled mostly by Funtana. Flew exceptionally well.
11.14.09 - "Sneak" by Funtana - Long, fast taxi, but just couldn't get up off the ground (prototype).
10.25.09 - "Bob's Own" Yak - Twister - Great looking plane with good construction, but the power system and servos just felt too small. Aside from lacking power, it flew pretty well, requiring little trim.
10.20.09 - HobbyKing Cessna - John - Similar to Jason's Cessna, this plane had more power than I expected and flew solid, but the aileron servo was binding a bit and eventually had to be replaced. A little sensitive on ailerons. Slight roll tendency was easily trimmed out.
10.??.09 - ParkZone BF-109G - PuckerUp - Flew "heavy", not as powerful as I thought, but adequate. Sensitive ailerons, but did not need much tweaking. Plane wanted to tip stall on landing, not a beginner plane.
May have missed a couple 09.01.09-10.14.09 - took a couple trips in there.
09.01.09 - Maiden flights off of the UTV (Universal Take-off Vehicle) - Very nice... Sea Wind launched with no problem, Swift II with Longhorn module was a bit hit/miss, but did work a few times.
09.01.09 - Hobbyzone SuperCub ($100 mods) - PuckerUp: This thing was a mess, constantly flew in big circles, almost took off some heads, trunks, windshields multiple times. I little nose weight, less angle on the motor and alot of various trims and we got it flying fairly well.
09.01.09 - Some kind of foam 3D plane with a zipper - John (Let's make his nickname Zipper): This plane flew pretty well and showed some potential for radical 3D. Considering it attacked its owner multiple times before I got it, I consider myself lucky to have gotten it up and down with no issues.
Notes: Lotta maidens 09.01.09-09.02.09, getting guys ready for Labor Day and floats.
08.20.09 - Parkzone T-28 Trojan - Bob: Nice flying plane, took a bit of right aileron trim, couple clicks of up elevator to keep the nose down.
07.21.09 - HobbyZone SuperCub LP - John: Flew good, just like the old SuperCub when we swapped in a lipo battery. Pulled to the right, but trimmed it with the radio trim.
07.??.09 - ParkZone P-51D Mustang BL - PuckerUp: Great flying plane right out of the box, fast, smooth, no landing gear, not a scratch on landing.
06.??.09 - Sapac T-45 Jet - Funtana/MaidenPro: Not overly powerful, but it looked great and got up and came back in one piece.
